Finding a comfortable, supportive mattress that doesn't break the bank is always a win. Finding one that's also designed to help you sleep cooler? Even better.
We're proud to share that the Bear Original was named "Best for Hot Sleepers" in U.S. News' Best Mattresses Under $1,000 of 2026 guide.
This recognition highlights what we've always aimed to deliver with the Bear Original: quality sleep, reliable support, and cooling-focused comfort at an accessible price.
Bear Original: U.S. News' Best Mattress Under $1,000 for Hot Sleepers
In its Best Mattresses Under $1,000 of 2026 guide, U.S. News recognizes affordable mattresses across different sleep needs and preferences, helping shoppers narrow down their options without exceeding their budgets.
The Bear Original earned the publication's "Best for Hot Sleepers" designation, distinguishing it as a cooling-focused option among mattresses in the under-$1,000 category.
For shoppers who love the comfort of memory foam but worry about sleeping too warm, this recognition is especially meaningful. Traditional memory foam can retain body heat, making temperature regulation an important consideration when choosing an all-foam mattress.
The Bear Original is designed to address that concern with cooling gel memory foam while maintaining the contouring comfort and dependable support that make memory foam mattresses popular.
What Makes the Bear Original a Great Choice for Hot Sleepers?
The Bear Original Mattress combines cooling-focused materials, supportive foam construction, and a firmer feel to create a comfortable, budget-friendly sleep surface.
Here's what makes it stand out.
Cooling Gel Memory Foam
The Bear Original features gel-infused memory foam designed to help manage heat buildup while providing contouring comfort.
The cooling gel works alongside the mattress's supportive foam layers to create a comfortable sleep surface without the excessive sinking some sleepers associate with traditional memory foam.
Cooling foam also complements the bed's breathable Celliant® cover that supports your body's natural temperature regulation.
Medium-Firm Support
With a medium-firm feel of approximately 6.5-7 out of 10 on the firmness scale, the Bear Original offers a balance of cushioning and support.
Its high-density foam foundation helps maintain a stable sleep surface, while the memory foam comfort layer contours to the body for pressure relief.
This supportive construction can be especially appealing to sleepers who prefer a firmer, more lifted feel rather than the deep hug of softer memory foam.
Affordable, Everyday Comfort
A quality mattress doesn't need an extravagant price tag.
The Bear Original is one of our most affordable mattresses, designed to deliver the essential features shoppers look for: comfortable pressure relief, reliable support, and cooling-focused materials.
Its straightforward all-foam construction makes it a practical option for budget-conscious shoppers, guest bedrooms, and anyone looking to upgrade their sleep without spending more than necessary.
